La Fiscalía General de la República anunció que está investigando a Joaquín Guzmán López, El Chapito (hijo de Joaquín, El Chapo, Guzmán) por el delito de traición a la patria. Lo que se le imputa, en concreto, es haber privado ilegalmente de su libertad a Ismael, El Mayo, Zambada, para trasladarlo fuera del territorio nacional y entregarlo a las autoridades de Estados Unidos.
Los españoles tienen una expresión muy elocuente para describir cómo quedó el gobierno mexicano tras la operación del pasado 25 de julio: con el culo al aire. La Real Academia Española de la Lengua la define como “en situación comprometida por haberse descubierto algo”. Se trata de un caso que involucra nada menos que a dos de los principales capos del Cártel de Sinaloa, la organización criminales más importante de México, pero las autoridades mexicanas fueron informadas una hora después de que Guzmán y Zambada ya estaban bajo custodia de sus contrapartes estadounidenses en El Paso, Texas.
Si bien no hay versiones oficiales ni de este ni de aquel lado de la frontera, el mensaje no podría ser más claro: Estados Unidos decidió actuar unilateralmente para juzgar en sus tribunales a dos criminales que operaban a sus anchas en territorio mexicano (con todo lo que eso implica en términos de ofrecerles beneficios procesales a cambio de información).
