No es un secreto el desprecio que el presidente de la República, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, le tiene al Poder Judicial, se trata de una cuestión pública validada un día sí y otro también, en su conferencia matutina diaria, intensificada ciertamente a partir de la salida de la presidencia de la Suprema Corte de Justicia de la Nación del ahora ex ministro y férreo mornista y amloista, Arturo Zaldívar Lelo de Larrea, a quien de hecho con una reforma a modo presidencial, López Obrador intentó dejar en tal posición hasta que llegara el día de su retiro.
Parece ser una cuestión de poder, al presidente, es evidente, no le es de su agrado compartir el poder, así sea con los otros dos poderes de la Unión, el Legislativo con el cual no tiene conflicto alguno dado que su partido tiene, y tendrá por ahora, la mayoría, y el Judicial, que en su responsabilidad de salvaguardar la Constitución, ha sido un dique de contención a las reformas que de manera unilateral ha propuesto el Ejecutivo Federal, algunas de las cuales han sido detenidas.
En su cruzada por incidir también en el Poder Judicial, como lo hace en el Legislativo, López Obrador ha nombrado a cinco de los once ministros que conforman la Suprema Corte de Justicia de la Nación, en estricto orden de designación: José Luis González Alcántara Carrancá, Yasmín Esquivel Mossa, Ana Margarita Ríos Farjat, Loretta Ortiz Ahlf, y Lenia Batres Guadarrama. Sin embargo, dos de ellos, González Alcántara y Ríos Farjat, comprometidos con su participación en el Poder Judicial, accionan a favor de la Constitución, lo cual en ocasiones ha sido contra los designios del presidente por lo que este los ha tachado de traidores, de no tener principios ni convicciones, y aceptó haberse equivocado al proponerlos para el alto cargo en el Judicial.
