¿Qué falló en el caso de Edson N.?
Una vez más, el sistema judicial de Tlaxcala se enfrenta a serias interrogantes tras la absolución de Edson N., acusado del homicidio del exdiputado local Omar Milton N. En un proceso que se alargó por casi tres años, este martes, el Tribunal de Enjuiciamiento decidió por unanimidad absolver al acusado, señalando que no había suficientes pruebas para una sentencia condenatoria. Pero la gran pregunta aquí es: ¿qué falló?
El caso Edson N. no es un simple error procesal; es un reflejo de una cadena de fallas que parecen enraizadas en nuestras instituciones. Desde su detención en enero de 2022, la entonces Procuraduría General de Justicia del Estado (PGJE) impulsó una narrativa que ahora parece desmoronarse ante la falta de pruebas sólidas. A pesar de las más de 20 audiencias, los testimonios y pruebas presentadas, el tribunal no encontró elementos suficientes para inculparlo. Entonces, ¿cómo es posible que un ciudadano pase casi tres años de su vida en prisión por un crimen que, según la justicia, no cometió?
Este caso nos obliga a repensar cómo se está manejando la impartición de justicia en Tlaxcala. Si no había pruebas contundentes desde un principio, ¿por qué se vinculó a proceso a Edson N.? Y peor aún, ¿cómo se justifica haberle negado un amparo? Estamos hablando de la vida de una persona que, durante años, ha sido sometida a un juicio social y judicial que parece haber sido más producto de la improvisación que del cumplimiento del debido proceso.
La pregunta que surge tras la liberación de Edson N. es más inquietante: ¿estamos frente a un sistema que fabrica delincuentes? No es la primera vez que vemos cómo la Fiscalía Estatal sostiene acusaciones que al final se derrumban por falta de pruebas o por una investigación deficiente. La impunidad, en este caso, no es solo para quienes cometen el delito, sino también para quienes construyen un caso sobre cimientos endebles, afectando la vida de un inocente.
