Tras la tómbola de la guillotina, quince personas decidirán quiénes aparecerán en un caudal de boletas. No. No será el pueblo, sino esos quince notables quienes aprobarán las candidaturas de quienes competirán por ocupar la mitad de los cargos en el Poder Judicial. Dos tercios serán cercanos al régimen: un tercio será recomendado por la presidenta de la República (el poder ejecutivo es unipersonal, no se nos olvide), otro tercio lo seleccionará la mayoría del legislativo y un tercio más, la vilipendiada Suprema Corte de Justicia de la Nación. Dada esa composición sesgada de origen y tomando en cuenta, a la vez, la capacidad de movilización política de la coalición hegemónica y la tenaz campaña de desprestigio enderezada contra la Corte, no creo que cueste mucho trabajo imaginar quiénes tendrán más probabilidades de ser electos.
En el camino, el INE y los órganos electorales locales tendrán que lidiar otra vez con la ubicación de casillas para la elección judicial, que no podrá ser la misma que se utilizó el 2 de junio pasado. Tendrá que diseñar las boletas para que la gente comprenda por quiénes y por qué cargos está votando: ministros y ministras para la Corte Suprema, magistraturas vacantes de la Sala Superior del Tribunal Electoral, magistraturas de las salas regionales electorales, integrantes del Tribunal de Disciplina Judicial, primera mitad de magistraturas de circuito, primera mitad de las y los jueces de distrito y magistrados y magistradas locales. ¿Quién dice que no es pan comido? Luego, tendrá que convocar nuevamente a cientos de miles de ciudadanos para integrar las casillas electorales y capacitarlos para que no se hagan bolas con las urnas y las boletas diferenciadas y puedan llenar las actas con claridad. Y además, tendrán que emprender una campaña audaz para explicarle a la gente de qué va toda esta elección.
